Job Summary
Online instructors wanted to teach six-week session Michigan Virtual School online courses. MVU is recruiting independent contractors who are Michigan-certified, highly-qualified teachers to teach six-week session Michigan Virtual School online courses. Instructors will have posted daytime online office hours and teach two synchronous online sessions per week between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Successful candidates will work online from their home office.

• Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate;
• Highly qualified in discipline area; and
• Interest or experience in teaching online.

Job Requirements

• Submit to a criminal background check;
• Submit a disclosure of unprofessional conduct from previous employer;
• Available between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; and
• Complete mandatory training program, which includes a one-day face-to-face training. (The training program will be held in our Lansing office and will be followed by four weeks of online training. The next training will be on June 19 from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Job Summary
MVU is recruiting independent contractors who are Michigan-certified, highly-qualified teachers to perform a combination of analysis of current online courses and development of new course materials. Subject areas are all at the high school level and include mathematics, social studies, science, English language arts, and other content that is a part of the Michigan Merit Curriculum. Work may be on either professional development courses aimed at Michigan teachers, or Michigan Virtual School courses, or both.

This position reports to an MVU Project Lead responsible for the course area. All work is to be done within the context of an MVU instructional design framework and course standards and within specific timelines. This work will be part of a team effort that will include others, such as work by multimedia contractors on supporting materials.
